According to GM, the new Rally Sport Truck package will drop the 6.2-liter V-8 found in the GMC Yukon Denali into the Tahoes engine compartment. With the additional 65 horsepower, the Tahoe will launch to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds. Still, such a speedy zero to sixty time wouldnt necessarily come from an additional 75 horsepower. However, if owners opt to further the vehicles performance, they can squeeze out an additional 10 horsepower by ordering an optional Borla exhaust system. Chevrolet ends production of the Spark EV now that the Bolt EV is out

Chevrolet is putting its electrified bets on the Bolt EV, as the company announced today that its ending producti on of the Spark EV, the compact car with a relatively meager 82 miles of electric range. The Spark EV was only sold in three states, and Chevrolet told Detroit News that it sold only around 7,400 of them in total since its introduction in 2013. Chevrolets Bolt EV is a much bigger bet on electric cars, but the companys decision to part ways with the Spark EV shows its not interested in keeping EVs around just for the sake of having some in the lineup. The decision to end production of the car likely has a lot to do with the Bolt EVs much more attractive options, which include 238 miles of EPA rated range. Watching Bolts performance will be big not only for the future of Chevrolets electric car program, but for those of all automakers, since all eyes are on Chevrolets first attempt at a long-range, affordable consumer electric mass market vehicle.

The automaker has also removed the Spark EV from its consumer website, leaving the Bolt EV as Chevys only electric vehicle in its lineup. The 2016 Chevrolet Spark EV was rated at 140 hp and a whopping 400 lb-ft of torque driving the front wheels. When General Motors unveiled the Bolt EV back in 2015, the company said it didnt intend on cancelling the Spark EV, The Detroit News reports. With a 19- kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the Spark EV was EPA rated to travel approximately 82 miles in betw een charges.

Now that the Chevrolet Bolt EV is ramping up for a nationwide release, its time to send Chevys previous electric car, the Spark EV, off to Electric Valhalla. The Bolt EV goes on sale throughout 2017, with a release schedule that sees certain states receiving models ahead of others. LG Chem supplies the batteries for both the Volt and Bolt EV, as well. The Bolt EV will take up the mantle, replacing the "compliance car" with something available in all 50 states. Those states require a certain percentage of zero-emissions vehicle sales, and the Spark EV helped bolster that.

Chevrolet is putting its electrified bets on the Bolt EV, as the company announced today that its ending producti on of the Spark EV, the compact car with a relatively meager 82 miles of electric range. The Spark EV was only sold in three states, and Chevrolet told Detroit News that it sold only around 7,400 of them in total since its introduction in 2013. Chevrolets Bolt EV is a much bigger bet on electric cars, but the companys decision to part ways with the Spark EV shows its not interested in keeping EVs around just for the sake of having some in the lineup. The decision to end production of the car likely has a lot to do with the Bolt EVs much more attractive options, which include 238 miles of EPA rated range. Watching Bolts performance will be big not only for the future of Chevrolets electric car program, but for those of all automakers, since all eyes are on Chevrolets first attempt at a long-range, affordable consumer electric mass market vehicle.

Chevrolet announced Friday that it is adding a new low cab forward medium-duty commercial truck that is expected to be available by the end of the year. This news comes after Chevrolet announced in 2016 that it was returning to the medium-duty truck market and would offer six low cab forward medium-duty trucks through a GM-Isuzu partnership. The company will introduce its new offering at the NTEA Work Truck Show next week in Indianapolis. The medium-duty truck has a maximum GVWR of 25,950 pounds. The trucks will be built at the companys assembly plant in Charlotte, Mich., where the other low cab forward trucks are made, as well as in Japan.

The 6500XD will be available at Chevrolet Commercial dealers by the end of 2017. The cabover truck comes ahead of the forthcoming medium-duty conventional cab truck being codeveloped with Navistar, expected to come to market in 2018. The truck has a dock-height chassis, is available in eight wheelbase configurations, and can accommodate bodies up to 30 feet in length.

The goal of having hydrogen as an alternative fuel widely available in Germany came a little closer recently when two new hydrogen fuel facilities were opened at filling stations in Frankfurt and Weisbaden, writes Brian Byrne.

In a scheme to which the German government has contributed â‚¬1.6m, this brings to 30 the number of such facilities in Germany. It is planned have a network of 400 such stations by 2023.

The programme is being implemented in a joint venture by H2 Mobility Deutschland and its partners Air Liquide, Daimler, Linde and Shell.

The hydrogen is used in fuel-cell powered cars, which emit no greenhouse gases and have electric mo tors using electricity produced by the FC system.

MAZDA 323 (1993-1998)

Along with the 626, the 323 were the first Mazdas to be assembled by Columbian Autocar that did its battle with the Corolla/Lancer class. Back then, a single 1.3 and two 1.6 models were launched but with the introduction of the seventh generation model, the higher engines were discontinued and two more variants having the smallest engine was added.

The new generation Porsche Cayenne was revealed yesterday, writes Brian Byrne.

With elements from its smaller Macan brother SUV, and a rear treatment with elements borrowed from the Panamera, its an overall evolutionary exercise for the model.

Theres a significant redesign in the drivers area, with a massive 12.3" screen hogging the centre dash.

New engines to the model will include a 340hp 3.0 V6 turbo and more power to the base engine.

One of the Chinese cars which looks and speced decently for below 500 grand. Good thing it has dual airbags, ABS brakes, and a decent amount of power kit. Although the brand has a long way to go, aftersales service is excellent.

HAIMA 1

One of the Chinese cars which looks and speced decently for below 500 grand. Good thing it has dual airbags, ABS brakes, and a decent amount of power kit. Although the brand has a long way to go, aftersales service is excellent.

Jaguarâ€™s new E-PACE will arrive in Jaguar Land Rover showrooms in early December, writes Trish Whelan.

This is the newest member of Jaguarâ€™s SUV family following the F-PACE, Jaguarâ€™s performance SUV and Winner of World Car of the Year 2017.

JLR has announced a limited edition introductory launch price of â‚¬36,000 for the 2.0D i4 150hp manual model. This represents a â‚¬2,000 saving.

Jaguar Land Roverâ€™s MD Gerard Oâ€™Farrell says the E-PACE provides the best of both wor lds: the brandâ€™s sports car dynamics with compact SUV practicality.

This is a five-seat compact SUV that packs the design and performance of a Jaguar sports car into a spacious, practical and connected AWD vehicle. It takes its design inspiration from the F-TYPE sports car.

The E-PACE and E-PACE R-Dynamic come with a choice of three diesel and two petrol engines. The 2.0 four-cylinder Ingenium diesel powerplant is available in 150/180 and 240hp outputs, while the pair of 2.0 four-cylinder Ingenium petrol turbo units deliver 249hp or 300hp.

The 300hp Ingenium petrol turbo engine takes 6.4 seconds for the 0-100km/h sprint. The front-wheel drive 150hp diesel delivers C02 emissions of 125g/km and has annual road tax of â‚¬270.

The E- PACE comes with the latest safety and driver assistant technologies, and is the first Jaguar to feature the companyâ€™s next-generation Thin-Film Transistor Head-Up display technology.

It comes with the wearable Activity Key waterproof and shockproof wristband that allows the driver to lock the main key inside the car when enjoying outdoor pursuits like running or cycling. When the Activity Key is activated by holding the wristband up to the upper edge of the number plate surround on the tailgate, any conventional key fobs left inside the car are disabled.

The past few episodes we had focused on Toyota (including Lexus and Daihatsu), Nissan (plus Mitsubishi), and Honda. Now, our last of the series will now involve brands that arent part of larger automotive groups which includes Isuzu, Mazda, and Suzuki.

We did this series with Korean brands as a whole with vehicles not available in their home country. Before we start, current model line-up vehicles will be counted here and since Japan does not anymore dig pick-up trucks, they would not be listed here.

Isuzu MU-X

Based on the D-Max pickup, the MU-X is the only SUV offered by Isuzu and is only available so far in the following locales: Th ailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Australia, China, and India. In some markets, it wears the Chevrolet badge but this one is outsold by the Japanese counterpart.

Isuzu Panther

With the Philippines (sold as the Crosswind) discontinuing this model by the end of this year, you can only buy this MPV in Indonesia. In India, it is sold as the Chevrolet Tavera and squint hard to find the similarities of the two models.

Mazda CX-4

Only sold in China, the CX-4 is based on the CX-5 but the height is shorter than the CX-3 but engine and transmission options are shared with the former car. It seems that the Chinese are getting their market exclusive cars not meant for the rest of the world.

Mazda CX-9

Assembled in Japan but not sold in Japan, the CX-9 is the brands largest model available and the largest SUV in the line-up. The previous generation model utilized a Ford platform and a V6 engine but currently rides on a Mazda based underchassis and a turbocharge d engine.

Suzuki APV

Produced in Indonesia, this MPV rivals the likes of the Toyota Avanza and can be had in either 1.5 or 1.6 gasoline engines. Ever since its production in 2005, it has yet to receive a full model change. In Indonesia, it has numerous variants with varying levels of equipment.

Suzuki Celerio

This Indian built and developed hatchback which slots above the basic and utilitarian Alto hatchback in terms of price and feature content. The shocker is a 800cc diesel engine that is only sold in India, which is definitely a beast.

Suzuki Ciaz

Replacing the SX4 sedan in Asia and Latin America, the Ciaz can be had in either gasoline or diesel engines depending on the market.

Suzuki Ertiga

Utilizing the Swift chassis, the Ertiga is developed by its Japanese and Indian subsidiaries, this one competes with the Toyota Avanza and Honda Mobilio. Engine options include a gasoline, diesel, CNG (India), and diesel/hybrid (Indonesia).

Suzuki Swift Dzire

First existed in the late 00s, the Dzire is essentially the sedan version of the Swift sold in India and certain export markets. It is below 4,000mm, which automatically receives a tax break for sedans within a certain length. The Indian market ha s both diesel and gasoline variants, while we get the latter.
